tired of big cans
«

No, not that kind of cans. Come on guys, get your minds out of the gutter. Besides, I will never get tired of that kind of big cans.
I'm talking about my mufflers. I have an old 99 m750 and I want to do something different with the exhaust. I'm kinda going for the minimalist look. I was thinking of finding some baffles that will fit in the ends of the headers where they meet the slip ons. Anyone know of something that would fit? Failing that, maybe just put a straight pipe on there with some baffles in them? Anyone have pictures of anything like that?
I would LOVE some boomtubes, but I can't even come close to affording them, so this is what I'm left with.
Thanks for any help/suggestions!

Baffles?

Although it is my understanding that your bike will hate you until you re-jet the carbs.

It's the same thing. You're just paying someone else $102 to measure for you. Given there are no pics of the interior of that contraption, I'd rather make my own.
Although I suspect you'll find 105db to be... excessively raucous. the note will probably be very similar to those short Harley pipes that just curve out of the head and point at the ground.
Others have done both (or similar), most appear to hate it and many others hate the idea.
seanster,
Based on your other post about your carbs, I would avoid this until you are more comfortable
breaking
working on your bike yourself.

Do you know a way to make my D&D a little quieter? cheap? easy?

I'm not usually the voice of reason... and I'm pretty sure this route would not be quieter than a D&D (not that I've heard either option in person)
I have also never measured the outlet on a D&D.
With all that said, something like this
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SCH-42530/
might help. there are other inserts available, the main thing is to make sure your outlet continues to be bigger than your inlet (if only by a little) and you shouldn't (in my amateur opinion) need significant tuning. I am also assuming the outlet points straight back, and doesn't angle. Measure early and measure often, then order something.
