Won't that require splitting the case?

i am pretty sure it does.

i did a A.P.E. head-stud replacement on this engine so i figured splitting open the
case wouldn't be that much harder....?

my clutch pushrod is pretty much toast.  it looks like someone put it on a lathe while they where drunk, so i figured
the bearings need replacing.  also, when i spun the rod around while in the engine, it seemed to hang up and not as
smooth as i would expect.

Ok,just making sure you knew what you were in for...pulling the main gear off of the crank can be a challenge, likewise the alternator/flywheel. Beyond that, it's all fairly straight forward. Beware of loc-tite on the retainers. Use a proper case splitter vs screwdriver and hammer. Oh, and have a blind bearing puller on-hand.

I havent been able to do it with a 2 prong puller, so i suggest a 3. But, get a good one! It will need to be very strong for it's size, which will need to be small. This is due to the lack of space between the gear and case edge.

Edit: I'm talking about gear puller, not bearing puller.

Ok. One last thing: when I did mine the center gasket was discontinued. So 3bond will work to seal but then everything needs reshimmed because its thinner. Crank, both trans shafts, shifter drum, I think that was it.
