Header Wrapping 696 Exhaust (O2 sensors)

Hey guys.

I have a quick question regarding header wrapping my 696's exhaust. For those of you that have done this, did you remove the exhaust or did you wrap it while it was attached? I'm assuming it was the former. Personally, I would like to remove it, however the O2 sensors are giving me a hard time - I can't take them out. I find them really tucked in and I can't seem to get a wrench (stubby) on them. I know there are special O2 sprockets out there... should I invest in one? Any advice would be appreciated.
