I am thinking of andonzing or powder coating or something black to my front forks. Found few places here on the forum but they are all other part of us.
Anyone know of any place locally around northern va. also any advice on if I should powder coat or paint or andonize would be greatly appreciated.

I say neither....I'd wrap them with vinyl!
If you need to service your forks, I'd do it before you wrap them. You won't be able to get the forks out with the vinyl wrap. Otherwise, it's a great idea. The wrap looks great if you take you time, oh, and it's not permanent. |

Thanks, I have only 1250 miles so I dont think I need any service. I am going to ted's wrench party , may be I outta take 12 pack instead of 6..  thnx for advice . vinyl wrap it is . |

I don't think I have the skills to disassemble the forks and reassemble them after anodizing so I looked into the cost of getting everything done. It is really pricey (like $500 or so for the assembly/disassembly from Ducpond). It's not worth doing unless you need service as someone else mentioned. Which is why I was just going to go with wrapping them. I've had my vinyl sitting around for a minute. I tried to do it once and it went horribly, so I'm hoping I can make it to Artful so he can wrap it for me at some point.

I had them service and anodize my fork legs. It was less than $300. I just shipped them out Via UPS.

Pulling out a old topic.
I got new forks and looking to anodize. I called alexandria metal finishers, and they say they can't anodize forks. Anyone know of any local company who would do hard ano?
I could ship to ducati omaha, but if I would rathar do locally if I could find a shop who does it.

Figure engineering may do anodizing, but I forget. Ducpond has a shop that they use for anodizing though. I once asked donnie about getting it done. If you give them a call and ask, I'm sure they will tell you the name of the shop they use.

Taking them apart is easy as pie....hardest part for most folks is having the cycle somewhere with no forks on the bike. |

I talked to len at figure engineering he reffered me to jason at full spectrum.Jason said he had alexandria metal finishers do anodizing on his sbk forks from amf, I dropped my forks at vondari today and taking just the shell to amf tomorrow.
Will post update once they finish with anodizing.
