fuel level /pump sencer broke but works ?

750 SUPER SPORT tank has a level sencer that plugs into the fuel pump . What i have is a broken off tube  it has ben working for a year exposed down to a nub ,it shows two dioids on each side and a copper wire coil winding on the bottom and a tiny little circit board on top . its a total of 1 1/2 inches high with the long fuel pump wires . Is there any danger of a K-BOOOM ?                       Im selling the bike and dont want to spend no dough on it after today i had the hinge brazed .

if there was, the open connector to the pump would cause it.
