Beach Rental needed August 2-9

Hello So Call Monster people,

My friend here is looking for a beach house rental in the Orange County area for the week of August 2-9.  He did some schooling in the area and has relatives nearby.  He is interested in Newport Beach, Seal Beach, Manhattan Beach or similar communities.

He has tried quite a few rentals with no luck.  Either the rental is booked, or the agent doesn't get back to him, or something shady seems to happen with each one.

He needs three bedrooms/three baths and is looking at spending $3,000~$4,000 for the week.

Any suggestions?

thanks for all help that was offered!  He got a nice rental on Balboa Island for the week he wanted.

Now I will have to pick your brains about the good spots to eat and drink on Balboa Island!
