Author Topic: Keeping brake lines off tire  (Read 1037 times)

I'm running custom brake lines and no front fender.  When the bike is stationary, the lines clear the front tire very well.  But, they have been worn down pretty good, to the steel part, obviously they are rubbing when the bike is in motion.
     Any tips and tricks besides some ugly zip ties to keep this from happening? (other than running with a front fender)

I assume they rub when the fork is compressed.

Maybe/probably a matter of how they are mounted through the lower triple and/or the banjo orientation.
Could also be that they are too long?

Wire loop/bracket connected to some bit to help guide them? You'd have to fashion one - but they can been seen on cable drive speedo monsters as and example.

Definitely not too long, and they are mounted like the stock lines, through some brackets in front of the triple.  I'm going to try to lower my headlight and gauges soon, maybe that will adjust something...
