Hi everyone,

It just came to mind after being in traffic for a short period of time that my clutch seem to be a bit heavy to pull.  I has always been that way since I got the bike but I'm looking for options to change that.  I've read of (1) removing the springs (2) new slave cyclinder

Any first hand experience? Pros vs. Cons?  I went to the dealership and try...and man! those clutches are so soft.

Any opinion is greatly appreciated.  My bike is 2000 M750.
2001 Supersport 900 Yellow!!! (she's just so much fun)
2000 Monster 750 Carb Dark!!! (Sold and still full of regrets)

On the wet clutches you need all the springs in place, I believe....
If anyone with FHE can tell you it's ok - so be it.

I just changed my stock 26 mm for a 28 mm YoYoDyne - perfect!
There was no need for a lighter clutch for me, but the lever action and feel is much smoother.

Your clutch shouldn't be very hard to engage - do you know if the springs, push rod and master are working well?

If not - a new coffin style master is just around $ 100 at YoYoDyne.

the big differnece is the Addler clutch on the newer wet clutchs. APTC or something.

You could ebay a radial master with a bigger ratio. The pull will be easier but be careful because if its too big of a jump you wont be able to disengage the clutch.

Important: always check your battery filter and regularly change your headlight fluid.

I had one of the clutch spring screwholes strip on me once so I removed the opposite spring.  It was a lighter feel but the clutch was slipping on me.

The APTC is much lighter.  AFAIK if you get the whole clutch it should transfer over.  You might even be able to find some freak who likes a regular clutch better and swap.

or just buy this:

Don't overlook this.

That, too.  As I've said elsewhere, I don't like the APTC engagement.

Many people do, though, and far be it from me to tell you what to like on a bike.  If I still had one, I'd be the guy to trade with.  I retrofitted the "regular" wet clutch and am much happier.
