s4 not starting

Sunday last I was on my way to belfast when the duc just died the battery was cooked and regulator was thought to be the blame so I ordered up a new battery and regulator and fitted them today and the bike won't start not even turn over I've checked and tested all fuses and relays shorted out the starter relay and it turns the engine over the fuel pump runs the clocks and lcds work the only thing that is different is on the dash the amber engine light stays on after the clocks have done there start up cycle. Please help is it the ecu clocks and or ignition switch is there any other tests I can do to elemenate any or all of these there are no duc dealers in Ireland at the moment so I don't have access to any diagnostic equipment specific to ducs but are there generic diagnostic testers that might help any help would be appreciated.
