Simple question regarding headlight wiring

Diagram shows 3 wires (white, yellow/white, black)
I looked at the actual wires and there are four (a solid yellow as well)

Black is ground
White is low beam
Yellow/white is high beam
Whats yellow? The optional side light?

US lights have a small (5W or so) lamp in the housing, besides the Hi/Lo beam bulb.  Could it be for this?
