EOBD light

I have a 2008 s2r 1000. and the EOBD light comes on when I'm riding. Sometimes it goes out in acouple of minutes, and sometimes it does not.
Is there anything I can or should do to correct this?  Tx

Have somone with a scan tool check for trouble codes as a starter.
