Hiccup from air intake??

Hey guys, been experiencing this issue lately  ('07 S2R 800) and wondering if anyone has the same?  Regardless of the gear I'm in, rev range 3-7k, the air intake "hiccups" and then feels like the power to the bike is cut out for a split second.  Sometimes it will do it 2-3 times in the span of a few seconds but normally just the one time every so often.

Dirty air filter? I posted this same thing to someone else with a similar issue...easy to check anyway.

lean, out of balance, etc.

If its not whats noted above. then its valve adjustment time. Check the plugs first before you open her up
