another vote for the sargent seat which aleviated all the knee pain I had touring on the corbin seat I had before. However, I am much shorter than you and at 6'7, I really wonder if there is much of anything you can do to aleviate the knee pain.

I hate to say it, but it might just be that your height is too much for the monster. Hopefully I am wrong and the sargent seat can do the trick or at least lengthen the time until the knees begin to ache.

Yea, that's all I'm really hoping for. The bike is surprisingly more comfortable that you'd think for the 95% of riding I do, and that's <2 hours of riding on a near daily basis. If the Sargent seat provides a more comfortable platform, opens my knees up a bit, and allows me to ride for a couple hours longer before my knees start to ache that I'll be a happy camper. Eventually, once funds allow, I think a MultiStrada or a BMW R1200GS I'll add to my stable for a longer distance bike. Thanks again for the help. I got word back from Sargent and apparently with the additional foam they can add to their seat will make my seat a custom seat, therefore non-returnable. So I sure hope I'm happy with it. Should be ordering that soon.

Currently the seat they make for the newer Monsters fits the cut-outs in the faux tank fairly closely. What shape and fit will it have if you add the extra foam? Did you discuss that with Troy? If the stock seat works for 95% right now, maybe you don't need to add more foam until you try one? The stock seat slopes BADLY into the tank IMO. The Sargent is flatter and wider at the rear. You don't want to screw that up, or end up with a Sargent which slopes forward.

No, I emailed their customer support and got that response from Dane. I'll call them soon and discuss that with Troy. That's a good point though. I agree, I don't like how the stock seat is sloped into the tank.

Mine's a 08 Monster 695. I'm 6'3 and 250ish, I had the springs front and rear changed out for ones for my size first. Sag was then set up for me. I bought an adjustable rear link to raise the ride height and dropped the forks slightly to maintain the original handling. I also purchased a Rizoma handlebar and risers, then came a set of adjustable foot pegs, and a DP touring seat.

It feels a lot more comfortable to me now, the increase in height left the kickstand way to short. I picked up a center stand off fleabay but there are longer kickstands out there.

I'm only 6'1" but the Sargent seat along with a change to Monster city bars made a huge difference, 300+ mile days are no problem now

FWIW you could get a plate or spacer welded to your kickstand for low $$$...if it is done right and repainted it will look OK
