Probably an operator error, but I can't seem to turn my ABS back on.  I know how to change things like DTC, clock, etc in the Monster menu, but for some reason when I am on the ABS option (and its current state is DISABLED), I can not hold down the selector and change the setting to "ON".

So my first thought is "What sensor has become disconnected?"  I've looked at both the front and rear sensors and it all looks good.

What have I done to my bike that might affect the ABS?  I've done numerous mods but these are the only ones that I could see having some type of impact.

  1. New tires.  I took the wheels off myself and had the tires replaced by CycleGear (who did a really fine job)
  2. Front sprocket.  I have not done the rear. (so this really shouldn't affect abs at all)

I haven't spent much time investigating, but I'm wondering if anyone has had this issue.

Does anyone know how much clearance should be between the ABS rings and the sensor on the front/rear wheels?

Thanks
Josh

Maybe make sure all the axle spacers were put on correctly

If the ECU doesn't read the wheel sensors properly, the ABS system disables itself. It does a self-diagnostic each time you turn the bike on.

My guess would be when you installed the wheels, something is not lined up correctly. The sensor should have about a 1mm spacing between the sensor and ABS ring.
