I just got my first Ducati (2009 M696 with about 1,000 miles on it) and am very excited.  It's only my second bike so still a newbie.  I took it for a quick spin earlier this afternoon and it was a blast to ride.

Tonight, I wanted to show my brother my new bike and let him hear my Leo Vince pipes.  I hop on, kick stand up, start up and released the clutch a little too soon (slipped my mind I hadn't put it in neutral yet), the bike went forward, and the bike stalled.  I tried to restart it and it will start up, but won't hold an idle.  It just dies after it starts.  Did I break something?  :-[  I was doing some reading on the immobilizer system, but I don't think the engine would even start if this was the issue.  Any ideas?  Thank you.

If it starts...

ride it...don't just start it. ;)

It will be happier.

Use the choke lever and let her warmed up a little before moving the choke back to no-choke.

Was just reading about this on the forum and in the owner's manual.  Will give it a shot tomorrow. Thank you.

Was a little scared I broke something already...lol.  Earlier this afternoon, she started right up with no issues.  Oh, I also have the ECU flashed, if it matters.

Sweet, used the fast idle lever and it worked!  Thank you.
