I read somewhere in a search a while ago that a few guys were looking for a handlebat mount for their iPhone and I came across this deal.  http://www.dealfind.com/products/calgary/ergogadget?a=044673be03d4  Not sure how good it is but for $35, I'm ordering one to try out.  Figure it would work well for maps and GPS, when needed.  ...Steve

I'm not sure but I did see a thread a couple weeks ago (could have been a different forum) where a guy was trying to find a weather proof mount for an iPhone.  I'm hoping this will be decent and do the trick but for just $35, it seems like it's worth it.

you hadn't mentioned that portion before and for that I'd say get an Otterbox case for the phone itself and put it in the RAM cradle...

not saying the Otterbox is the perfect solution...but they are a good piece of defense that seems to be better than nothing at all...I know one Motor Cop that has his i-phone Otterboxed on a RAM mount on both his service Harley and his personal Harley and rides through rain and everything else with it jacked in and sitting where it does....( the funny thing is, he has all of his siren sounds saved on his phone and uses them through the sound system on his personal bike for when we do escorts at events)

I've been using the Biologic mount for a few years.  Works fine even in the rain.

Buy the life proof case and bike mount. IT is what I did.  use a thin layer of tool dip on the end of the connector and it acts like a o-ring.  That case is the best, I literally have left it in a pool over night and not a drop leaked in.  Just make sure the o-ring is in good shape and you close the latch.  ITs it the smallest and toughest case. They issue us otter boxes for our work phones and I just threw it out and bought another life proof one for my work phone. (I do construction work), they are dust, water, snow, mud proof.

Forgot to mention, you will have to mod the end of the life proof bike mount to be able to open the charge door to plug it in on the bike.
