I have a 2000 M900IE (fuel injected). I'm trying to adapt a Ducati Performance Instrument Panel Kit part #96502299C made for 600/750/900 Monsters up to 1999. Supposedly it is adaptable to later model monsters. The pins line up and everything works except the TACH which has its own separate green wire running from it. When I try to run the green wire through the pin that ran the stock tach it won't work. If I run the green wire to a coil terminal the tach works but runs at twice engine speed!! There are 3 brass screws in the back of the tach case, are these adjustment screws? Is there anyway I can get this tach to read properly?

Also there is a separate blue wire running from the oil temperature gauge (very nice!!). What does this connect to? Is there a oil temperature sensor on these models?

The carbed bike ran a tach signal once per ignition firing.  The injected bike runs a tach signal twice per ignition firing.  Simplest solution would be to find an EFI tach and swap it into the cluster.

I've never known of anyone "fixing" this issue outside of parts replacement.

Good luck.

Think I may have a DP tach for the EFI bikes. I have a carbed. 750 this is going to go on.

Swapsies if so?

I don't think the tach you have will work in the dash he has...
