Riding with o2 sensors unplugged?

I'm having an exhaust made for my 796 and will need to extend one of the o2 sensors. The problem is I will need to ride the bike back home from the exhaust shop with the horizontal cylinder o2 sensor unplugged. I'll do the extension wiring once I am home. Will this result in limp mode or anything dangerous I should be aware of or will it just throw a CEL? I Just don't want to get stranded an hour from home or damage the engine.

Thanks in advance!

OK, I dont know.

But I'm pretty sure you will get CEL, and maybe the ECU will switch to "limp home".   Or maybe it will just fuel to the max in an attempt to bring fueling back into line.

I dont believe you'll do any damage though.  But why not make up a plug-n-play extension loom ahead of time?

I would have the loom premade but were not sure of the exact location o the bung until everything gets fab'd up.

@Raux - so you had zero issues eh? Not even a CEL?

had the cel that's how I knew it was unplugged. had to wait til i got somewhere to take it apart and replug it back in

if I remember right, I was in Padova when it came on and made it to Misano. found the loose connection and it worked fine after.
