Hello,

I know these types of questions are asked a lot but I've searched the forums and read thru the old fuel tank compatibility thread and didnt really see a concrete answer for my bike. (Most of the topic was about newer FI bikes and plastic tanks)

I've asked a number of techs in shops and they all give me different answers.

So my question is as the topic states:

What year/model Monster fuel tanks can I use without major modification on a carbed M600?  The OEM part number is 58610332AH

I've been told any carbed tank '00-'03 (I though all the monsters after '01 were FI?), but I was also told that 750 and 900 tanks of the same year are different and wont fit.

Anyone have a definitive answer?

Thanks

Howie

The 900 in '00 and '01 were fuel injected so if you want a good fit with your seat you will need an '00 or '01 600 or 750.  Older carbie tanks will sort of fit.

If you're looking I've got an '01 750 tank, it's got some nice dents and would certainly need some work. If it's something you're into maybe we can work out a deal. If not, no hard feelings.

If you are willing to change the seat to match the vintage of your tank any carby tank will work.

Obviously the OP would be entitled to first dibs.  If the OP isn't interested, I would be curious to see some pictures and a description.  I also have a 2001 carb'd M600 and need a new gas tank.

You can also use the newer nylon tanks... get the fuel flange with it and then modify it so it just drains. We might actually have MTT tanks again this year.  [roll] I'm so beat down by that, I don't even want to hope...
