I think it's a 25mm but please let me know if I 'm wrong and who might sell these.  It goes to a 2006 S4R.
Thanks

If it's an aluminum nut it uses a washer. Steel nut does not.

It's 25mm ID.
The nut OD is 33.5mm, and the counterbore in the fork is not much bigger.

Part # 85211811A

~$2 at a dealer.
I suspect you'd have a hell of a time finding one somewhere else.

I checked for the '06 S4R and it doesn't list a washer in the pdf.

Do you use one anyway?

well it's been two months since I took the wheel off and then put it back on.  Been down without the ability to ride so I just now got around to putting it on and I swore there was a washer but if it can run without then I'll do just that.

Thanks

Doesn't the nut have a rounded contact surface?

If it's a steel nut I don't believe you need a washer.

I could be thinking of something else. :-\

I will look and see if I have one tomorrow.  If I do it does not require a washer.  This is not an off the shelf fastener.

As you said, the aluminum nut needs a washer.

I've only seen aluminum nuts on SBKs and S4Rs (with the Ohlins forks).
That part number I got was from an '01 996.

The nuts for the 25mm axles have a flat contact surface on the back side, so if it's a steel nut, then no washer.
