hi! well I am doing a complete electrical tear down and I am stuck on the throttle's sensors... i see a metal kind of clamp , really fine-thin metal clamp, how do I remove the sensor? I don't want to break it, thank you!  [thumbsup]

Howie

Could you post a photo showing the clamp and sensors you are asking about?  As I remember, (can't look, since mine is a carby), the connector on the throttle position sensor just pulls off and the fuel injector connectors are locked in place by metal clips.  Hopefuly someone with a 620 can look and confirm this.  If it is the fuel injectors you are inquiring about there is a metal wire clip that locks the connectors in place.  If you look at the parts diagram  http://www.ducati.com/services/maintenance/index.do you will see tabs on the injectors.  You need to gently pry the clip just enough to clear the tabs.

Thank you so much! the sensors have the same build as the valve cover sensor, which I haven't been able to remove either  [bang]

Thank you speeddog that was exactly whatI was looking for!!  [bow_down]

Ok, managed to unplug those 3 sensors... now for the final run, this oil sensor or what-ever sensor might be, do I pull, unscrew or hammered?

this is the last sensor I need to get off to complete my electrical tear down, help!  [bang]

Thank you

Howie

That sensor was added by a previous owner so I cannot be sure.  It would have to be oil temperature, which your bike did not have when it left the factory.  I would suggest carefully pulling back on the boot.  If it is like the temp sensors on the later monsters it is a spade connector that pulls off sideways , if not it probably pulls straight off.

DOH!  You have a fuel injected bike [bang]  Spade connector.  Pulls off sideways.  If you go here  http://www.ducati.com/services/maintenance/index.do  and go to page 26 (language US) you will see what the sensor looks like and page 45 #5 is a spade connector.
If you do damage it the connector is common and the fix is easy.

Yes, sideways.

Not good, actually pretty bad at this computer drawing thing.  It will only go in one direction.  You should be able to feel it move.

yeap, thank you that was it! now to start hidding and tearing the new harness apart!  [beer]

the "sensors" you were asking about are the injectors.  you can sometimes wiggle those connectors off, but not on the pico type injectors you have.  you tear the plastic part of the injector out of the steel body.
