Hey,

newbie here to the Ducati world having just purchased a 2002 Monser 620s ie. Hoping one of you guys could help me out with some troubleshooting advice.

So got it delivered last week and turned ignition to 'on' and all I got was the neutral light coming on and 'batt' on the LED screen. Guages didn't spin, guage cluster lights didn't come on but I hear the whizzing and headlights work, etc.

I then proceeded to order a new battery to replace the no name version currently in the bike with a Westco AGM that I have purchased.

Insalled the new battery last night and I still get the same light/batt problem. As a query (random luck) I pushed the left hand button on the clock housing and the thing sparks into life, guages spin through as they should, all lights come on and then i'm left with the flashing then solid yellow immobiliser light. Immobiliser stops me from starting the engine.

Funny thing out of all this tho is that if I turn any of the three keys to 'on' and then IMMEDIATELY push the button on the clock (whilst the relay/pump is whizzing), everything comes on fine, immobiliser light turns off and I can start the bike no problems. this is the only way I can get it started at the moment! cool (engine starts) but weird!!

Has anybody ever come across this? And if so, any thougts on potential causes/remedies? Or is this just a special cool continental way of starting your bike???  ;D whilst i'm happy I can get the bike ticking over and ride around town, it does worry me that a larger problem might be lurking in there.....

many thanks in advance! [thumbsup]

What I would do, as a previous victim of strange behavior, is open up the gauge cluster and verify that no connections on the board are corroded and making things play funny games.

Otherwise, other people will likely know a bit better what to do.
M620 turned M800 but then back to M620 after the M800 died at 110k, and now to Multi 1000.

You must hit the starter button within 15 seconds from the time you turn the key on or the bike will not start.
