Quick Question - Temporarily Removing Clutch Slave Cyclinder?

Hi,

I have a quick question. After my chain snapped and caused about â,¬4k worth of damage to the engine over the summer (long story, but was due to an incorrectly installed chain and the mechanic's insurance paid for it - but did mean I missed about 3 months of good riding weather) I purchased a stainless steel case cover. The idea being that if the chain ever snaps again it's less likely to dig a hole in my engine.

I have the front sprocket cover off now, but need to remove the clutch slave cylinder to be able to install the steel case cover. I don't have any fluid with me and haven't messed around with the clutch slave before (had my last mechanic change it for an Oberon one). I just wanted to know if it's possible for me to remove it temporarily while I install the steel case? Or will I likely need to bleed it after?

If you remove it with the line connected there should be no need to bleed.

It's a 2010 Monster 1100 ABS. I just installed it now and after a ride down to the main road and back there were no dramas. I only pulled out the clutch slave a couple of cm to fit the steel bracket in there.
