Idk about anodizing the swing arm.. seems like powdercoat would be a much better option, endurance wise/ fading.
I love the way they look when powdercoated frame color  ;D

Speaking of fading I just removed a decal I had on the swingarm and boy has the finish browned up over the years.  The portion covered by the decal has not browned at all.

Would it be okay to clean it with brasso?  Or would that eat away whatever coating is on the swingarm.

On my bike, I prefer the color of the swing arm the way it is but I can see why a lot of folks like to powder it the same color as the frame...

So the OEM swingarm for the S2R is clear coated ?  Going to clean mine with brasso in a small area that is not visiable to see if it does any good for the slight discoloration/browning that I've noticed as time has gone by.  I think it should do the trick.

If you think it's clear coated, why not use a rubbing compound?

Because I didn't know any better...thanks.  Any hand rubbing compound(s) that you are particularly fond of Ducpainter?

DuPont 606 is pretty good for hand work on clear coats.

It's more aggressive than clear coat safe compounds, and as this isn't a tank or some part where you'd destroy the gloss it should work OK.

You should be able to find something at a box store if no PBE shops are around.

Box store=Autozone...Pepboys...etc.

It's professional machine rubbing compound for lacquer paint. It's pretty much obsolete these days because not many shops use lacquer.

Works great by hand for stuff that just needs cleaning.

I used to use it on my aluminum cans that aren't anodized because they dull out.

Interesting, can't wait to try it out.  Thanks for sharing this.  It will be a while before I save up enough for a new chain and sprockets so working on the bike should keep me busy.  Thanks again.  ;)
