Replacements for 695 rear shock/suspension
«

Hey All,
Has anyone fitted an 848 rear shock on a 695 Monster...?
Is it possible ..? Is it a straight forward swap..?
Any input would be great ...
Thanks in advance..!

I have an 848 shock on my 620ie. You will need to use a 999 ride height adjuster & remove the rear fender. Even then the shock resevour may rub the tire.

I assuming there was an improvement in handling for you ?
I'm thinking I don't like the idea of the shock reservoir rubbing on the tire....
Did you consider any other shocks as a replacement ? Why did you go with the 848 unit ..?
Thanks for replying...

It did make a noticeable difference in handling, but also made the front end feel worse. I have been running it for a few years now, it has only hit the tire a few times. I was originally going to put a 999 shock on it but a the time the showa shocks were hard to find & expensive. I found an 848 that had a lighter spring online & took the risk.
