I still have hard starting problems just like always. I thought for sure the reflash and opening the airbox would be the cure but im just out of ideas at this point. Anyone have any suggestions or anything to try? One thing i forgot to do was the tps reset with the ignition switch but is that really necessary? Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks!

Its a custom map installed by Redline specifically for this setup.

Also deleted O2, flapper valve, raised rev limit to 9500

It runs very well on the road and noticably more power but im still having to do the same routine when its cold or sits for a day or two. Turn key on wait for fuel pump and display to boot, push starter and it starts then dies, turn key off wait 10 seconds then back on and repeat until it finally stays running. I had to do this three times yesterday after the bike only sat for a day.

I'm absolutely convinced the M1100 difficult to start issue is due to fuelling.  Not enough of it at startup.

I've not experienced any difficult starting since modifying fuelling (PCV is set to briefly squirt plenty at startup - there's a setting specifically for that).

A reflash will only address the hard-to-startness if the mapping allows for more fuel... at startup.

If you're happy with the fuelling on the run (and it sounds like you are) then probably not worth adding a PCV just to resolve the starting issue though  :-\.

if the airbleeds are open, wind them in fully (taking care to note how far out they were so you can go back if required) and try that for a while (not just once) to see if it helps.

Sorry for not getting back to this topic but I have recently moved accross the country and Im in southern california now. I finally got the bike out for a few rides out here and I think I may have another bizzar issue. I live in San Diego an took a ride up into the mountains yesterday and got up to about 3000 feet and the bike started to bog and lose power. I took a side road when I got to the top around 4000 feet an it ran even worse. I have very poor throttle response and alot of rough running at lower rpm's through the corners. At one point I thought I smelled fuel as well. Is this an altitude problem because of decrease in oxygen or am I crazy to think that and its something else that needs tuning? It seemed to run fine until getting halfway up into the hills and has been running good until now aside from the starting problem. Brad, could you please point out where the air bleed screws are so that I can give that a try. Im wondering now if this thing needs a power commander to adjust for lack of O2 sensors?
