The news is making way around the interwebz but figured I'd post here for those who don't venture far. Sad, sad day.

So sad...I sure hope they plant a new one....the tavern is named after it...the turn and is known by almost everyone who had ridden or drove on that track.

Seems there are a lot of oak trees succumbing to the weather lately -- and a lot of them are sick trees.

We have 1.5 acres and took down 14 trees when we got the property to open up some space in the back yard (14 out of 34 trees on the property!)

Of the 14 we took down, 8 of them were oaks and of those 8, 5 of them were sick -- losing bark, etc -- and a couple of those had hollow trunks (eek!)

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.
