Turn signals only working above 6k rpm??

I've put LED's on the rear and front, so I've got resistors on there.  I've checked all connections, wet sanded connections on voltage regulator (I think that's it, black box under seat) and replaced my old Gel battery with a new Shorai.

The signals will very occasionally work at idle, though frequently die before I turn them off.  If I get up above 6k rpm they tend to work reliably, but shut down once I drop below that.

Any ideas?

I'll add, previously (for about 2 years) things have been working perfectly.  Not sure how that piece would connect on my bike, it doesn't look like what is on mine.

ChrisK

It replaces the flasher relay underneath your seat. Or maybe I don't know what I'm talking about and your setup is different than mine, that's a definite possibility. lol

You mean the thing next to the part I had previously cleaned the connections of and completely ignored?  That says "electronic flasher" on it? What could that possibly have to do with the blinkers?  [bang]

Cleaned that off, works like a charm.  Thanks Chris!

False alarm.  It worked when I first tried it, put the seat back on and they aren't working again.  The box next to the flasher box makes noises when I first try to use my turn signal, and they fail to work.

Edit: and now it works again... no idea what the hell is going on.

Works with the seat off, but not with the seats on?  Start wiggling wires and checking connections.  Intermittent open circuit.

ChrisK

Yeah, your seat is probably pushing down on that flasher relay in a funny way making it lose connection. Try and make sure it's straight up and down, pushed in all the way, and everything is bolted down correctly.

That's what I was starting to think Howie, everything looks pretty good though.  I'm guessing it is just an iffy connection somewhere, something a little loose.  If it works above 6k I'm guessing that it's just vibrating enough to get a near constant connect.  I'll have to go through and try to track it down.

Thanks guys
