2013 EVO already has a rippled gas tank cover.

I purchased a brand new 2013 1100 EVO 3 weeks ago.  A few days ago I noticed that the right side of the gas tank cover was rippled. Slight rippling also on the left side.  The bike only has 900 miles on it and I primarily use REC 90 non-ethanol fuel.  The dealer has initiated contact with DA and expects to hear back this week. However, his attitude was less than encouraging.

I'm aware of the previous expanding gas tank issues but I thought DA corrected them on the new EVO's.  Besides, with less than 1000 miles on the bike and very little ethanol used, I can't imagine that that would've been the issue anyway.

Any feedback/theories would be helpful.  I can't seem to find any related info on Google.

It's a different problem.

There is no fuel contact with the skins, or covers on the new Monster tanks.

Rippling is probably something else, but the fuel cell can still expand and put pressure on the skins enough to cause cracks at weak points.  Happened to my Multi1200 after two years.

 Probably defective paint. I bought a used EVO seat cowl on eBay and it had rippling paint along the entire bottom edge of the cowl.

I agree that rippling is probably something else, and I doubt that an expanding tank (have there been any reports of this on newer Monsters?) can exert sufficient pressure to cause cracking.   I dunno about Multis, but on the newer Monsters there's enough... ahem.. movement and expansion space between tank and skins to prevent that IMO.  I hope  .
