Hi,

I'm seeing cracks on this plastic piece that connects the accelerator cable to the throttle body, does anybody know what the replacement part # is (see picture below)?

Bike is a 2006 S2R 800, I looked in the parts manual for my bike and it just gives me the P/N (28240681A) for the entire throttle body, which costs 1,200!

Any input is appreciated.

It's called a throttle body cam.  You're in luck because many S2Rs (including mine) have the cam molded onto the shaft where yours has  a retaining nut.  Electraeon makes these aftermarket cams which reduce the degrees of throttle twist required to achieve full throttle, something that I think our bikes benefit from.  Even with an older sbk throttle tube on my S2R, I find that I often need additional finger input to achieve WOT.  Hell, if it was easier to do, I'd offer to trade throttle bodies. Here are a few links that should help:

Wow! you guys are fking awesome.

Gonna checkout the Electraeon piece and also search the interweb for potential replacements.

Not sure why mine would be any different than other S2Rs (mine is the dark model, maybe that's why).

Thanks again.

LOVE LOVE what the Electraeon did for my throttle

Looks like it's going to be the Electraeon piece for me (unless I find the OEM one at the DUC dealer next week). I'll post the swap pics on this same thread so future newbs (like myself)  can reference.

Mine looks the same. Been holding off on the Electraeon part since they only come in red. I did some searching and at one point they did offer them in a natural color before they anodized them. I emailed them about it a while ago and they said, "only available in red now". I was never able to source the plastic OEM piece. Would love to see the pic when you get it installed on your Dark.

Maybe I'll just get one one and paint it Dark ;)

the red is seriously not that visible being within the frame like it is.

Well, got the piece in yesterday and installed it this morning.

The red is noticeable but I like the way it looks:  [thumbsup]

Looks great!  Most importantly it draws the eye away from the fork reflectors.   ;D
