Is there a way(simple I hope) to by pass the whole immobilizer function.  I want to just be able to put the key in and turn it on and start the bike.

If the system is working properly, that's how it goes.

What specifically is happening?

With either the red or black key -
There is no start, have to enter the code off the code card in order to start the bike a real pia

There is an antenna in the blank plastic shroud that encircles the ignition switch.

Find the wires that come out, confirm that they're plugged into the harness.

Is this a new problem?

Bike is new to me, the person who passed the bike along to me.  Says he has a new ring antenna that he never tried to install.  Is it as easy as installing the new unit and trying to start it again or is there something else you have to do when you install the new antenna

Speeddog

You can unplug the antenna wire and remove the shroud, then just put the new antenna in position and plug it in, see if it works.

Get the antenna quite close to the key, it's range is very short.

Thanks for the info, I'll post how it works out once I get the new antenna installed

The story continues  -  I have replace the ring antenna with a new one - So using the red key - the dash cycles - All lights expect the oil light go off - the yellow led above the two buttons flashes twice and goes out - engine will not start -
