Here are some pics from a ~350 mile ride I took yesterday from Yuma to Julian, CA and back. Route was I-8 to S2 to 79 to Julian and then S1 (Sunshine HWY) back to I-8 to Yuma.
Windmills by Ocotillo, CA
Sorry about the cell phone pics, always frustrated by how hard it is to to take landscape pics that show the beauty accurately.

S2- Long straight, but some corners coming up

If you call it No Name Canyon, isn't it Named?

Fantastic place, if you get a chance eat a slice here!

Some Pics along S1 (Sunshine HWY)

I used to love riding out to Julian via Ortega Highway.  Then I ran into a couple of the most crooked CHP officers ever and decided to stay out of San Diego County.  One heck of a story but I think it may cross a line telling it on this forum.  Maybe I will tell the story on the "other" site.

Hey DP can I tell the story?

 popcorn c'mon dp.... Grin

Just rode Sunrise, and 79 today. Perfect weather, albeit, lots of traffic, I just took it at a slow pace and enjoyed it.

Yeah, I took it pretty slow yesterday as well. A couple of weeks ago I passed 3 cars on a double yellow on a straight stretch, they were going going about 10 MPH below the speed limit and I was too impatient to wait for the passing zone Evil Unfortunately for me car number two was  Police in a low pro wrangler, tough to talk my way out of that one, I'm sure it will be pricey bang head

Been taking easy as a result:) Still had a fantastic time. What a beautiful area!

You already dropped that stinkbomb in the Palomar Mountain thread.

I'd appreciate it if you stopped crapping in San Diego threads with that story.

That's why I asked.   Wink  It is one heck of a story, sadly a very true story.  I will go post it over on the other site for anyone that wants to read it.
