while fiddling with a small set screw in my SSR gas cap, it of course fell into the tank.  /sigh

I pulled the filler and searched around as much as I could without dousing myself in gasoline, but didn't find the screw.

I'm thinking it's no problem but wanted to check her first if it is indeed not an issue, or if I need to be worried about it getting somewhere it shouldn't.

Any thoughts?

I wouldn't worry about it.

The pump has a screen to prevent it sucking up debris.

True, but now Privateer needs to go to the store and buy another one.  Try a strong magnet.

If by small set screw he's referring to one of the grub screws that holds the cap holder...

one missing won't affect anything

thanks, I knew about the pump screen, just didn't know if there was anything else to be concerned about.

It's not one of the grub screws, but similar size.  I can't find a picture of what it was, but there's some kind of vent holes in the cap area and these little screws are in them, then there's a vent channel I guess that runs parallel to the threads.

Telescoping magnet. Unless you got a steel tank which will be frustrating.
