I'm trying to chase down an apparent oil leak on the horizontal cylinder.  In that process, I'm replacing the gaskets on the valve covers and the cam cover, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get the cam cover off.

My dusmo times guide doesn't mention this at all.  Is there some trick to it?

thanks

Try loosening the belt tensioner.

Get all the pulley marks lined up first.

Also, bonk the 'ears' of the cover to turn it, that will break the bond on the gasket.

Also gives you an edge to pull on....

Not sure if the new gasket fixed anything but i figured out the oil is also leaking out from where the stator wires exit the side case.

I'm using the CA Cycleworks gasket on the side case.  Just get some of that gasket goo and squirt it on where the wires come out?

The only 100% successful method is to remove the sidecover and clean the rubber wire block, the notch in the sidecover, apply sealer to notch and block, and reassemble.

External application seldom works.

yeah sorry that's what I meant, disassembly and application, not trying to pipe it on like frosting.
