S4 no fuel pump /possible immobiliser problem?

Dear experts.
I hope you can help me. I did some work on my S4 today. I had a rebuild over winter and it ran OK when it came back. However,  the battery was sitting the wrong way round so I disconneced it to put it right. Part of this included removing one plug from the ECU, just to straighten the wiring. I also changed the tea tray as an indicator mounting was broken and fitted a new indicator. All went well but when I turn on the ignition I now hear no fuel pump. The motor turns on the starter and all the warning lights seem OK except the immobiliser light which I'm not sure is right:

When the ignition is off, it flashes quickly which I believe is correct. When I turn the ignition on, it flashes slower twice on and then stays on.

I don't think I disturbed anything. If the fuel pump is fed by the multi pin plug that also feeds the low fuel warning light then that seems OK, the fuel warning light comes on as it's almost empty.

Also I don't hear anything when I turn the key, like a relay...not sure if I should.

Are the lack of fuel pump and immobiliser connected?

Panic over!  I found the fuse, took it out to see if it was blown, it was fine, put it back and all is OK  [thumbsup]

Don't you just love Italian electrics!

maybe you need to remove all the fuses, give them a clean and lube and refit.  and make sure they're not cracked, i've seen that before.

blaming lack of maintenance might be better.

i had a similar problem last summer but the fuse wasn't burned it was broken so the bike was running pretty well until aprox 6000 rpm after that the motor was going off, because of the vibration the fuse was synchronizing causing an open circuit... Damn Italian electronics.... :D
