So I just got my PC-V for my 2013 1100 Evo.  I thought at first I would need to do the Rexxer Re-flash and turn off the 02's before having a custom map written and dyno tuned.  Will i need to do that still?  I am kind of confused here with the seperate "02 optimizer" that came with the kit.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.  I can put in a quick call to dyno jet too, just wondering what you guys thought.

Might as well just answer it here  :)

I'll try to keep it short.

You do not need to reflash your ECU.

You can simply install your PCV and the included optimizer(s), take your bike off to the Dyno and have it nicely tuned.

You'll love how much nicer it is  [thumbsup]

I'll now fail to keep it short....

But (c'mon, you know there was gonna be a but  ;)).....  If you do as above (and as the Dynojet instructions will direct you)... your custom Dynotune can only control fueling in open loop....  I've forgotten the exact cut-in, so for the purposes of the discussion lets say open loop is the range above 3750rpm.   Below 3750rpm (or whatever rpm it really is), we're in closed loop.  In closed loop fueling is managed by your O2 sensors reporting "too lean/too rich" around a predetermined threshold back to your ECU.

You cannot set parameters in your PCV to adjust fueling in closed loop (well, you can.... but it would be a circle of futility).

Dynojet gets around this issue with their Opimizer(s).  What they do is modify the "too lean/too rich" message reported by the O2s, causing the ECU to believe that fueling is leaner than actual, thus allowing more fuel (around a higher than stock pre-determined parameter).

So..... the benefit of having your ECU reflashed to delete closed loop (and removal of stock O2s) is that the entire fueling range can then be modified and tuned on a Dyno.  Instead of relying on a workaround within closed loop.

Make sense?

Makes perfect sense now. The guy at dyno jet just explained almost the same thing.

Thanks so much!
