Grease question

Not really a Ducati question... but a moto tech question none the less.

Problem:

Suzuki left the clutch pushrod exposed to the dirt and shit that slings off a chain.  There is a rubber gasket/bushing bit that is supposed to keep the oil in the engine.  Said rubber gasket thing leaks.  Known problem, but damned annoying.  Cleaning the pushrod makes it worse.  Cleaning the gasket makes it worse.

Possible solution?:

That is one expensive bucket of grease!  I doubt it will either hurt or help.  How much work and money for a new rubber gasket/bushing bit?  Is there an updated part?

Wow!! I don't know if I would want to depend on grease to keep oil in the case and grit out of it.

But it was interesting to take a look at the grease. Don't know if it is the same thing since it is advertised on an aero related site, but we used to have access to a similar grease which we used to put on fitting threads and flanges to fix pesky leakers. It was subsequently banned for our use because it was fouling filters and even pump rotors. Turns out it was such good stuff that it did not dissolve in AvGas or Jp4.

The only "fix" that I know of is to replace the damned thing every 5k miles.  This particular one has been marking it's territory for about a year now (it lasted 3 months), but I got overzealous and cleaned it and the pushrod when I changed the chain and sprockets a couple of weeks ago.

No updated parts.  According to my dealer, my bike is the first one to have leaked like that.  [roll]

The front sprocket guard also mounts the clutch slave and the speedo sensor... I guess I just need to make one with a "sling" guard inside it.  I hope the engineer responsible for that design has atoned for his sins.
