I'm trying to figure out the sequence of parts to install behind this new Ducabike slave cylinder. What goes behind my new Ducabike slave cylinder besides the accordian seal? Is there another O-ring or anything else on the slave side?   The new rubber accordian seal doesn't seem up to it. The ducati parts diagrams do not clearly show all parts. Ducabike instructions mention using the supplied ball bearing inside the piston at pushrod end, which I will use. It came w/ that ball bearing and 2 copper washers, no other parts. (I have a new accordian grommet also tho).

The existing slave (I believe it was the original one/ factory installation) had a round rubber washer thing behind the slave/ on the pushrod, + a rubber piston bottom seal which is mucked up.

thx in advance

The older slave cylinder (pre '01) had the accordian seal in them.  The newer design (and aftermarket slaves) eliminate the accordian seal altogether.

Loosen the banjo-bleeder bolt before removing the old slave, then *just* snug it back into place to keep fluid from raining all over.  Remove the old slave cylinder.

Put the ball-bearing down the new slave cylinder push-rod bore with a little grease on it, apply a little grease to the O-ring and fit it in the counterbore around the pushrod.  Bolt down the new slave cylinder where the old one was using the existing bolts.

The 2x crush washers are designed to be replaced when the banjo-bleeder bolt is removed from the old unit and re-installed on the new unit (one on the upper side of the hydraulic line and the other on the bottom).

Thanks.  The new Ducabike slave cyl did not come with an o-ring. When I ordered it from Pro Italia they sent me a new accordion gasket instead.  The projected part on the back of the Ducabike slave is ovalized a little, appearing sized to handle the larger end of the accordian gasket. By "fit new o-ring in counter bore", do you mean just use an o-ring at the case face around the pushrod where it comes out towards the slave (betw.slave & side cover), instead of the accordian grommet ?
Thx again

Their sales guy said just the accordian seal would work.  (Stu-do you feel an just an o-ring would work better? )

anyone else w/ exp installing Ducabike or other newer slave cyl on older Monster/SS?? -did you use accordian seal, o-ring, or both ?

Silas did you figure this out? Mine installed in a '96 900ss engine with only the supplied o-ring. Since I have the shorter pushrod I needed the little metal "nipple" thing inside the bore of the slave. Bled with my Harbor Freight knock off Mityvac and all was well. It was so easy even I could do it.  :)

You're gonna love that thing. No more numb left hand.

Yes, I did, thanks!- though I have not bled it yet.  Waiting on new blue HEL clutch line. I instAlled the SS ball bearing into the slave as described. I used the accordian seal w grease behind the new Ducabike slave cyl per Pro-Italia's advice. If it leaks any Ill go to the o-ring instead.
At 32,700 miles, it now has all new clutch hard parts incl all seals, pushrod, bushing, clutch cover seal , plates, etc.
