Hi guys,

Have a bit of a strange question. I recently bought a performance seat for my monster 620 dark and couldn't get it off, so i forcibly turned the lock and heard and felt a loud click. So now if i unlock the seat my key turns 90 degrees and stays there until i turn it back, where as before it would only turn 45 degrees and automatically spring back. I have disassembled the entire lock and the barrel and cannot find the problem the only thing i can think of is maybe i stretched the cable? i also tried to adjust the cable but it made no difference. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Has this always been your motorcycle?

I have one, and I also have a DP solo CF seat and the regular seat, mine has that exact behaviour, since new[2006] . . . Just keep the cable lubed, the latch and the lock too ...

BTW, welcome to the forum

Thanks should be more active now it's getting warmer, been doing a couple things to it like tail chop, indicators, seat cowl etc.  😀 and No I bought it a couple if months ago but had never used the seat lock much. Just to clarify your seat lock also turns 90 degrees and stays there until you turn it back? And did the lube help?

Thanks.

I did away with mine and pull on the cable. Simple enough for me.
