Hi , new member from Sweden checking in.

I got a pair of FCR41s fitted to my M900-93, but i havent been able to enjoy them and summer is passing by fast!
The throttlecable gets stuck ...

Can someone supply some pictures of the throttlecable routing and the throttlehousings position on the handlebar?

Thanks a lot!

My fcr throttle housing position has them under the bars. They then pass across to the left side of the bike where the connect to the carbs.
Make sure the path is a smooth curve and not binding. And make sure the "pull" cable opens the throttle and not the other way around.

Also, if I remember correctly, you have to cut a notch out of your OEM air box for clearance around the the area where the throttle cables attach to the carbs. I think the carbs have a sort of guard over that area, but I suppose it's a possibility that your air box would be preventing proper acting of the throttle.

Also are you using both cables? Even after careful routing of the cables I have to use both to avoid the throttle jammimg open. My friend with 900SS  only uses one cable and it never jams open. I think the Monster is a tighter fit for the cables. The return cable is good insurance on a slide carb.

Yes, i am using both cables, the airbox is not an issue since im using K&N Pods.
I guess its just trail and error, try out different routes and be patient. Thanks for your fast replys!

Another silly option I just thought of, is your grip slid too far up your throttle assembly? Many times there is a thin plastic washer in between the grip and the switch housing to the left of it, but if that's not there and your rubber grip is snagging that switch housing, it might feel like a sticking throttle cable.

Good thinking Chris [thumbsup].
Happens more than you would reckon.

OP- please define "stuck" for us. Does it open and then get stuck or does it not even open and is stuck right away?

Good point. The latter can be improper position of the throttle barrel in the throttle clamp housing.

I think its mainly a routing issue. I have read about the motionpro housing and it being a bit tricky to get right,
a common problem seems to be overtightening. I actually managed to get a position where the throttle snapped back,
but then the brakeassembly wouldnt fit right ... [bang]

Would love some pictures of proper routing in detail, from carbs to handlebar. Thanks for the input guys

So this is what it looks like.

That routing is the same as what I've got on my M750, and it works.

There's a couple issues on the MotionPro throttle that may be culprits.

The throttle tube is a bit short, so some grips will extend over the end, and drag on the bar.

Or, if they're all the way on, the grip flange is forced up against the throttle, and drags.
Additionally, there's some roughness on the casting edge that drags more.
I ran into that on mine, I smoothed off the casting, and made a plastic ring to go around the throttle tube, sitting between the grip flange and the throttle.

Thanks a lot speeddog! I will adress what you mentioned. Im actually quite surprised about the quality of the motion pro housing.
It feels cheap and and the fitment isnt 100%.
