If the origin is in VW/Audi, then that is great as far as I am concerned. There is not too much shabby technology in that stable.

As far as things failing when oil changes are neglected, nothing new there.

Armor

The VW cam chain tensioner is a plastic piece that rubs the chain.  It moves up and down to change the valve timing.  It will eventually wear out and break into little pieces.  Happened to my Passat.  Very difficult to replace.

the DVT system is isolated to the cams only. its also not implemented in the panigale engines so no cam chains.
