Hi,
I want to replace this (or maybe p/coat), but the 2 bolts securing it to the top triple are refusing to budge, & I don't want to round them off. Any advice would be most appreciated...

Insert socket, use medium extension, use hammer to bang on said extension, try to loosen . . . rinse, repeat until loosen . . .when assembling together, use some high strength loctite . . .

Use liquid wrench, PB blaster or penetrating oil. They are probbly siezed. Generally they dont have locktite on them.

Almost every bolt I've removed from my bike had red loctite on it.

Apply heat to keep red loctite from removing the threads in the aluminum.

Requires significantly less force to loosen after the loctite is heated.

Yeah, I've never had any issues with it. Just surprised to hear they generally don't have loctite.

Ive got an 06 S2R1000 and have found the locktite (factory) a real pain on several occasions, a bolt snapped on the clutch assembly, while changing the clutch (done by a veteran ducati mechanic!)
So know how you feel....
