Oil lamp problem '05 S2R 800

Howdy.
I'm all new on the board, currently fixing up a 2005 S2R 800. It is my second one, and I came over it by accident, finding it very bad kept, but with only 22000 km on the engine. So I have been restoring it for the last three week, all basic stuff.

But I am finding this one weird problem with the oil lamp, that it seems to turn itself on once in a while. If I stop and restart the engine, it does not reoccur. It is totally random, it could happen shortly after startup, or after one hour of riding, if I ride slow and comfortably or if I put my head down. It really has no pattern.

The oil, filters and everything is resently changed, the motor runs smoothly now, and all connections and cables seems fine. Even though I suspect the latter is the problem, knowing Ducati from before. 

Has anyone encountered this problem before or have an advice?

I'd like to connect the curves on the mountain roads in Southern Spain without having to glimpse down at the dashboard checking if the light is on..   

I could always take it to the Ducati mechanics here, but the combination of a land wide crisis, and me being foreign often ends up in brutal attempts of overcharging.

The oil pressure sensor, just next to the oil fill plug, has had to be replaced by a few Ducatisti... me included.

Also pack the connector with dielectric grease.  Also, a check with a mechanical gauge is s good idea.  Cold idle at least 2.5 bar.  Hot idle at least 1.1 bar.  35-4000 4-6 bar.

When I did the clutch on ours, the plug for the sender got filled with oil, started it up & the oil pressure light wouldn't go out... 

Cleaned the contacts with come contact cleaner & it was all good, I would start there, especially if it's been treated badly/;eft outdoors, etc.

 I had a BMW that did that, it was water in the sender.

I had a similar experience as others have said. The oil pressure sensor on my S2R800 had a loose connection. Pull the boot back and check the connection. Might need cleaning too depending how bad the previous owner neglected the bike.
