Hello
My name is Guy
Proud Pilot of a 99 Yellow 748
Got it from the legal dept at the studios
It is "the" bike Seth Green rode (and dumped) in the movie The Italian Job.
As close as I will get to being famous...Lol...My little movie star....
Dirt bikes 40 yr vet
Water rides 10 yrs
ATV GLAMIS Hound 15 years sands on
I am currently living in Riverside, used to live in Hollywood where I got vested and later relinquished, nice group but the leaders had issues....
Initial reason for signing up here is I am trying to find a qualified Ducati tech in or close to the area to assist with a current issue I have with some seals a and an oily clutch issue. Running a ducabike slipper clutch. Trying to find an exploded view of the components and the sequence.
It works fine but I am getting a flow of oil out of the basket and drips down to my pipe and causes a nice cloud of embarrassment....
I have opened twice to explore source of leak
All seems to be in order
I did notice when clutch plates are out that the Clutch Housing that bolts to the Clutch/Crank gear move in and out about 3/16" / 3mm Is it supposed too?
Spoke with a guy he said his does, it just seems like that much movement would have an effect on the oil seal.
While inspecting I run the bike with out the plates to see where the oil is coming from. Of course I get oil out the center of the clutch rod so I plug that up and get to operating temp, and I look for seepage. I see none.....
I suspect the Ring on the clutch side cover however it does not leak while test running. I also cannot operate the clutch with out the Rod installed...
I have the thought that when the clutch lever is pulled and the assembly moves out the 3/16/3mm that it will allow seepage..
I think I can put the the parts back in, less the plates and maybe get a visual of the drum & housing working and maybe be able to use the lever to see if I get any oil action.
2 things today
1. feel free to steer me in the right direction
2. Any real Ducati techs in the 909 or 951 ?
Hating life cause I cant ride....
Thank you
All the best
Guy
