I got a 2007 S4RS couple of months ago and it came with a full set of Termis but no ECU. Currently the bike is on stock exhaust. I've read that it may have an adverse effect if using aftermarket exhaust without the tuned ECU. Is it advisable to use the Termis? Does anyone know where i can get just the ECU only?

Sponsor Motowheels will do an ECU reflash for you. With a full exhaust you would be advised to tune to suit the pipes.
Just saw they have a sale on now with return free shipping.

does the bike have "the udder" still?

if it still has "the udder", you can install the slip ons and have a shop reset trim a little; but as koko64 said, an ECU reflash specific to your bike would be more beneficial

I thought it was a full system, but maybe I misread it.

I am interested in how this turns out. I have the full termi system with the DP ECU and it runs seriously rich at normal riding speeds. The MAP is tuned great for WOT, but around town I can smell the unburned fuel

Does your bike run a stock or open (Ducati Performance) airbox?
I guess a reflash or Power Commander/Bazzaz piggy back unit to fine tune. Some people have luck trying downloaded maps, but a dyno tune for your bike by a skilled operator is an excellent option if you want the tune to be tailor made to your bike and your preference.

I would use the search function to see how members here may have dealt with your issue.

I would post a thread with details pertaining to your own bike and where you are (generally), so that members can suggest local techs and dyno tuners. Hopefully good info comes out of the search function.
Good luck. :)

Check out bikeboy.org for tuning solutions for your bike.

The previous owner chopped off the top of the airbox so i guess this is sort of open.
Where i live the traffic police is extremely strict about modifications. My termins are not traffic police friendly :) so i'm not going to use it permanently.  I was hoping to have a set (termins + ECU) that i can swap when i travel north where it's not so strict and swap it back to original when back home.
