Hi guys... I have M620 2002, termignoni exhaust, pipercross air filter, OEM ECU... starting is great, riding when it is not very warm is great too, but when I start to push and bike got warmer idle is not very smooth. I think it misfires sometimes. I have Denso xu24epr plugs... Do you think I need warmer plugs?? I have som NGK dcpr9e at home. should I try those?? Or is there any other reason to missfire when hot??

Howie

Before going to a hotter plug you want to check your present plug color.  Then make sure all else is correct, fuel trim, valve clearance, TPS etc.  I would also try the proper DCPR8E plugs first since it covers both the Champions recommended by Ducati.  A plug to hot can cause engine damage.

thanks a lot...present plugs are brickcolor... so I think other things are OK...

+1 on what howie said and USE the OEM plugs DCPR8E, by your modifications your trim should be set up at around 23~24 and CO should measure between 3.5%~4.5% . . .

If you can, also check/set TPS . . .

The dcpr9e are colder. Dont be fooled by the numbering systems as they are not universal. For NGK the higher the number the colder; for Champion the higher the number the hotter. Denso make great plugs, but I have had trouble getting the correct match to the oem plugs. People have damaged engines getting confused by the different systems. As was suggested, use the oem plug.

Either at dealer or if you have access to a shop with a diagnostic tool that wirks with Magnetti Marelli IAW59M ECU . . .

I do not know where you are located so I cannot know of any shops in the area . . .

For that, I inist that you either instal the NGK DCPR8E  plug or the Champion RA4HC . . .  and it is even better if you have a gas analyzer
