Saw what looked like an 821 Dark. The bike looked compact unlike the M1200 which appears quite cruiser like in style.  This bike had all those annoying extra parts blacked out, eg the radiator guards. The bike looked small and tight with a big motor shoehorned in. Much like an 1100Evo but with a blacked out radiator. Maybe it was a custom. If it was thats how they should come from the factory. Anyone have a pic of this model? It was not as rangy as the 1200. Do they share a frame?

The radiator covers on my red 821 are blacked out. Only real difference between the regular models are the color and the lack of a seat cowl on the Dark. The Stripe version adds a white stripe to the red (obviously) and a small bikini fairing...

You lost me at the M1200 looks cruiser like in style. Are we talking about the Ducati Monster 1200? I dont see what about that bike looks "cruiser like" or how the 821 is really that much different in appearance.

No offense intended. The latest water cooled Monsters have a heavier, "rangier" look than the 1100 Evo. If the 821 & 1200 share the same chassis then  it was a customized bike. It must have been a stripped down  821/1200. I didnt get a pic as I was in traffic. The owner achieved a look akin to a water cooled Evo.
