14 M1200S Exhaust

Does anyone know What metal the stock exhaust is made out of?   I have an dyno Jet auto tuner and want to get the bungs welded on.  Thanks in advance.

Not sure of what the alloy is, but a not very stainless stainless steel.

The stock one's are too small.  The O2 that comes with the auto tuner, look like they could be used for a car/truck.

That's a bugger.  Autotune wideband sensors that came with my PCV+Autotune fit right into the stock O2 bungs ('09 Monster though, different kettle of monkeys).

As Howie said, the pipes seem to be made from staining stainless.

On a bung retrofit for the O2 sensors, since one of them will be relatively visible, I would opt for a TIG weld. A MIG weld wold be just as acceptable functionally but would be an eyesore compared to a TIG bead.

I was also as fortunate as ungeheuer in that the AT widebands I installed on my 2012 fit the stock bungs.

Back in history wide band were different threads so they could not be interchanged accidentally.  Since they are available in the correct size it makes sense to me to get them and avoid the welding.

Unfortunately, customers are stuck with the sensors supplied by PC with the AT kit. Sounds like something future customers ought to discuss with them.

I just installed some 2009 headers on my 1100 EVO because I like the look of the under-seat cans. The vertical pipe was a pregnant dog to install with the large WB sensor in place. Smaller sensors would have been great.

Thanks for all the help guys.     I didn't even think of asking the welder if he knows, guess I could take the bike down there and ask him.
