Rides around Bonn Germany?

I have an opportunity to visit Bonn, Germany in August for a few days.

Just started to do some digging, but wondered if anyone has any suggestions for rides/rentals in the area?

The town itself seems pretty interesting, so may opt for exploring by foot, but if there are some worthwhile rides in the area,  I'm definitely interested.

Bonn/Bad Godesberg.... an old stamping ground of my youth.

My local knowledge is a little sketchy being as it's 35 years out of date  

Guessing the Rhein road (we're heading south) through Koblenz is still a scenic ride/drive - at least as far as Rüdesheim...

Or head over the Ardenauer bridge to Königswinter.... some nice Rhein veiws from up at Burg Drachenfels....
