Hi

Just joined the site as I am thinking of getting the new 1200r monster.  Hoping to get a test ride in up here once the weather cooperates.  Currently ride a K1300s, and want to get something lighter with a shorter wheelbase.  I usually do 300 to 400 mile rides, generally by myself so I don't have to stop all the time...

One subject I need to get a better handle on is how reliable are Monsters?  I did come across a site which posts a number of pretty serious complaints.  The last thing I want to do is trade in my bike for an $18,000 new bike and get stranded in the middle of nowhere.  Would appreciate any feedback you can give me.

Thanks

Welcome  waytogo

keep an eye on the normal services + the little extras, such as tire pressure, oil level, chain lube and adjustments.

What were the things this site warned about?

Hi thanks

I don't have any problems having the regular service done, as I have brought my K bikes in every 6,000 miles religiously for the last fifteen years or so.  The site popped up when I was looking at ducati reviews.  Though I am sure this may be a limited griping group based upon bad dealer experiences, the last thing I want to do is have my bike break down on me in the middle of nowhere late on a Sunday.  Starting problems, stalling problems, gas tank issues, etc.  Hopefully no one will get too pissed over the title, but this is it.  http://ducatisucks.net/
